Two Hours with Paolo and Anna: Fettuccine and Tiramisu
This is a small class taught by a couple, Paolo and Anna, and their presence is most of what you are buying. They talk to the group before the lesson and stay after it, which is why people come out of a two-hour class having made friends with the other four people at the table. Two hours. Fettuccine made by hand, then tiramisu. A glass of wine throughout. It happens at Ristorante Amici on Via della Croce, a street that runs from the Spanish Steps towards the Corso and still has the food shops and old trattorias that most of the streets around it lost. Which means you can walk out of the class and be at the bottom of the Spanish Steps in three minutes. The format is closer to a kitchen table than a cookery school, and the size of the room decides that. If you want a demonstration theatre with twenty benches, this is not it.
