Two hours, a small group and a licensed English-speaking guide, walking the squares at the hour they look best. One thing to be clear about before booking, because the product is honest about it and so is this page: the Pantheon is seen from the square. There is no entry on this tour. If going inside matters to you, book one of the tours that includes admission; if you have already been in, or you want the portico lit rather than the interior, this is the better walk. The route starts at the fountain in Piazza di San Simeone, a square almost nobody starts anything in, and goes to Piazza Navona, where three fountains stand in the outline of a Roman stadium, with Bernini's Four Rivers under its obelisk and Borromini's church front facing it. Then past the Pantheon, on to the Trevi Fountain, and up to the Spanish Steps to finish. What the tour is really selling is the storytelling: the legends and the anecdotes attached to each square, in a group small enough to hear them.
