Trevi Fountain: Audio Guide Above or Guided Site Below
One listing, two options, and they are alternatives rather than a package. Read which one you are booking. The first is the fountain itself with an audio guide, walked at your own pace: the Baroque sculpture up close, the coin tradition and where it came from, and the events that turned this into the most photographed basin in Europe. The second goes underground with a guide, into Vicus Caprarius, the City of Water. The site sits more than nine metres below the street and holds Roman structures connected to the Aqua Virgo, the aqueduct that still feeds the fountain overhead. A small museum is included, showing what was dug out during the excavation, which is what makes the rooms legible rather than just old. Tickets arrive by email or WhatsApp at least a day before your booking date. If you would rather have them in hand, you can collect them in person from the operator's office at Via IV Novembre 148.
