Private Heart of Rome Walk, from the Spanish Steps to Navona

A private walk through the historic centre, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and also a working neighbourhood with a market in it. It starts at the Spanish Steps, where the guide explains how the staircase came to curve the way it does, then goes to the Trevi Fountain and the mythology around it. On the way to the Pantheon you pass the Column of Marcus Aurelius, which Romans nicknamed the snail column because of the spiral staircase inside it, and which is the second of the city's two victory columns. Most visitors walk past it without looking up.
