Pantheon Ticket with Audio and an Optional Basilica of Neptune Tour
Admission and a digital audio guide, with the option to add the part of the site that almost nobody sees. The standard booking is self-guided. You go in at your scheduled time, the commentary runs on your own device, and you take the dome, the oculus, the marble and the tombs at whatever speed suits. Raphael is buried here. The upgrade adds a guided visit to the Basilica of Neptune, in English or Italian, before your Pantheon visit begins. These are areas of the monumental complex that the ordinary ticket does not cover, and they are led by an official guide. If you have already been inside the Pantheon on a previous trip, this is the version worth booking. One practical point that catches people out: your entry tickets arrive by WhatsApp and email. The Viator voucher is proof of purchase, not the ticket that opens the door, so look for the second message before you set out.

Pantheon
Pantheon, Piazza della Rotonda, 00186 Rome. One of the best preserved ancient monuments in Rome, built as a temple to all the gods and later turned into a Christian basilica.
Pantheon
The dome and the oculus. Unreinforced concrete, spanned wider than anyone has managed since, with a hole at the crown that lights the whole room.
Pantheon
Raphael's tomb, set into the wall inside the Pantheon.
Pantheon
The interior: marble floors, tall columns and a plan worked out to the last proportion, which is what Roman engineering looks like when it is showing off. The later additions are part of the story too, the Christian altars, the tombs and the art that arrived over the centuries. Outside, Piazza della Rotonda, with its cafés, its fountain and a permanent crowd.
