Pantheon Museum · Tour
Pantheon Inside and the Trevi Water Level, or the Sunset Version
Two versions of the same route, and the difference between them is what you get through the door of. The standard tour includes a fast-access ticket to the Pantheon and goes inside, plus access to the water level at the Trevi Fountain, which is the fenced area at the basin rather than the crowd on the steps above. Both of those are booked entries, and both change the visit considerably. The walk starts at Piazza Navona with Bernini's Fontana dei Quattro Fiumi, goes on to the Pantheon, pauses at Piazza di Pietra for the columns of the Temple of Hadrian, then down to the Trevi Fountain with time for photographs and the coin. It ends in Piazza di Spagna with the Spanish Steps, the Barcaccia and the Column of the Immaculate Conception. The Sunset Tour runs the same route late in the afternoon with two differences, and they are stated plainly here because they are easy to miss: the Pantheon is seen from outside, and the Trevi Fountain without the entry ticket. What it adds instead is the sunset from the top of the Spanish Steps at Trinità dei Monti, which is one of the better places in Rome to watch it.
