Self-Guided Audio Walk of Rome, Started Wherever You Like

This is an audio app rather than a guide with an umbrella, and the difference that matters is the order. There is no fixed departure and no fixed sequence: you pick the starting point and decide which stops to take in which order, which is the reason people book it over a scheduled walk. The route covers San Clemente, where three buildings from two thousand years of the city sit one on top of the other; the Colosseum; the Roman Forum; Michelangelo's Campidoglio; the Jewish Quarter and Trastevere with its trattorie and medieval streets; the Trevi Fountain; the Pantheon and its concrete dome; the Spanish Steps and Via Margutta; and Villa Borghese at the top for the view back over the city. One practical note about the Pantheon, since the audio stops outside its columns. Entry has been ticketed since 1 July 2026 and tickets are nominative, so the audio commentary and the entry are two separate things. The building opens 9:00 to 19:00 with last admission at 18:30, and closes only on 25 December and 1 January. On the first Sunday of the month entry is free and cannot be booked in advance, which for a self-guided walk is either the best day to go or the worst, depending on how you feel about queues.
