Rome Walking Tour from Caffè Greco to the Pantheon, with Ice Cream

A three-hour walk that takes the centre of Rome in one go, starting from a coffee bar and finishing with an Italian ice cream. The route begins at Caffè Greco on Via dei Condotti, where the guide waits with a sign, and works through the Spanish Steps, the government quarter and the Pantheon. Between the famous names come the things people walk straight past: the Column of Marcus Aurelius standing in a square full of parked cars, the Temple of Hadrian built into the wall of a later building, the Parliament and the Palace of the Council of Ministers. The Trevi Fountain has been in enough films that most people recognise it before they see it, La Dolce Vita first among them. The coin goes over the shoulder, and the legend says you come back. At the Pantheon the walk narrows into a side street and the portico appears without warning, which is the best way to meet the building. Raphael is buried inside. Three hours, a lot of ground covered, and the ice cream at the end is included.
