Private Trevi Fountain Photoshoot at First Light

A private photoshoot at the Trevi Fountain, booked for early morning, which is the only hour it can be done properly. The fountain is among the most photographed objects on earth and by ten in the morning there are several hundred people between you and it. At first light there is almost nobody, the stone is warm-coloured rather than flat, and the water is loud in a way it never is later. That is the whole reason for the start time. The session is built around what you are marking: a honeymoon, a proposal, an engagement, an anniversary, or nothing at all. The photographer directs the posing, which matters if you are not used to being photographed and would otherwise stand there with your arms at your sides. Beyond the fountain the shoot moves through cobbled streets, small squares and corners away from the obvious spots, so the set comes back varied rather than twenty frames of the same backdrop. Editing is quick, and other locations such as the Spanish Steps or the Colosseum can be added. The photographer, Moji, waits outside Hotel Fontana, directly in front of the fountain.
