Pasta and Tiramisù Class Overlooking Piazza Navona
Two dishes rather than one, and the second is the reason to book this version instead of the plain pasta class. The workshop runs at Ristorante Tucci, with the square outside the window. First the fettuccine, worked by hand through every stage. Then tiramisù, which is the best known Italian dessert in the world and the one most often made badly outside Italy, usually by people who have never seen it assembled. The hosts take you through it step by step. The hosts are the point of the format. They are experienced, they work in small groups, and the class is run as an evening rather than a demonstration: you make the food, then you sit down at a table on Piazza Navona and eat it, with drinks and appetisers included. What you leave with is two recipes you can repeat at home, which is more than most food experiences in Rome give you. Arrive ten minutes before the start and ask the restaurant staff to take you through.
