Pantheon Priority Entrance with a Non-Linear Interactive Audio Guide

A coordinator waits in Piazza Capranica with a white flag, checks you in, validates the tickets and takes you past the ticket lines. That is the whole of the assisted part. The audio guide that follows is not a recording you start at one end and finish at the other. It is built to be moved around: take the dome, or the tombs, or the engineering, in whatever order the room leads you, and skip what does not interest you. The material covers the dome and its oculus, the change from pagan temple to Christian basilica, the tombs including Raphael's, and the symbolism and construction detail spread through the building. Raphael, incidentally, was not the first person buried here. The place had been a church holding relics for nine hundred years by then. He was the first modern artist given the room, which is a different claim and a more interesting one. No group, no departure time, nobody hurrying you along.
