The audio guide here works by knowing where you are. Open the link sent before your visit, walk the route, and the commentary starts on its own at each point of interest, with images and text alongside. There is no app to install and nothing to key in. That leaves the visit genuinely self-directed. Pause, go back, take a section twice, or stand still through a whole stop. No group forms and no schedule applies. The building was a temple to all the gods and later a Christian church, which is the reason it is intact. One detail the guide is likely to raise: the inscription across the front names Marcus Agrippa, not Hadrian, who actually built what you are standing in. That was not modesty. Restoring a building under the original dedicator's name was standard Roman practice, and Hadrian did it everywhere. One term to check before booking: this sale is final and cancellations are not refunded.

  2. Pantheon

The Pantheon is the best preserved monument of ancient Rome and the clearest piece of Roman engineering still standing. Open the link sent to you beforehand and follow the route it lays out. The app works out where you are as you reach each point of interest and plays the matching commentary, with images and a fuller explanation at every stop. The pace is entirely yours.
