Pantheon Entry Ticket with the Royal Route Host and a Multilingual App
The meeting point takes some finding, so here it is plainly. Stand with the Pantheon behind you and two streets open ahead; take the right-hand one, walk past La Casa del Caffè Tazza d'Oro, and Piazza Capranica is immediately beyond it. The host carries a flag reading ROYAL ROUTE. Entry is priority access, so the ticket queue is already dealt with. The commentary runs through a multilingual interactive app, in detail, at whatever speed you walk. The floor you cross is marble that has been walked on since the emperors, and the subject of the commentary is what happened to the building across nearly two thousand years: a temple to all the gods that became a Christian basilica. The tombs of Raphael and of the kings of Italy are set into the wall. Above all of it, the dome and the oculus, where daylight comes down in a single column and moves through the room as the sun does. Nothing about it is staged, and it works better in changeable weather than in clear.

Piazza Capranica, Roma
With the Pantheon behind you, two streets open ahead. Take the one on the right and keep walking past La Casa del Caffè Tazza d'Oro; Piazza Capranica is right next to it, and that is the meeting point. The host is there with a flag reading ROYAL ROUTE.
Pantheon
Priority access takes the ticket queue out of the visit. Book ahead and go in with a detailed multilingual app running on your phone. The marble underfoot is the floor the emperors walked, and there is no reason to hurry across it. The commentary covers what became of the building over nearly two thousand years, from a temple dedicated to all the gods to a Christian basilica. Inside are the tombs of Raphael and of the kings of Italy. Overhead, the dome and the oculus at its centre, where daylight enters in one column and moves through the room until the sun goes.
