Pantheon Entry Ticket with a Time Slot You Choose
Entry is booked for a time you pick, which is the whole point of this ticket. You turn up in that window, go in, and the rest of the visit belongs to you: no group to follow, no guide talking, no route laid out in advance. The building is close to nineteen hundred years old and its geometry is the reason people stand still inside it. The room is a circle 43.30 metres across, and the height to the top of the dome matches that width exactly, so the whole interior fits inside an imaginary sphere resting on the floor. Nobody arrived at that by accident. Overhead, the coffered ceiling steps inward in five rings towards the oculus, the single opening at the crown, which has never held glass. The light it lets in is the only light the room gets, and it moves. Rain comes through as well, and drains away through the floor. The tombs are around the wall: Raphael, and the first kings of a unified Italy. With a slot booked and nothing scheduled after it, most people stay longer than they meant to.

Pantheon
The Pantheon is the best preserved building of imperial Rome, and this ticket lets you walk it alone rather than behind a guide. It began as a Roman temple and became a Christian church, which is why it survived when the rest of imperial Rome was stripped for building stone. That second life is still going: it is an active church, and the tombs inside belong to both halves of the story, Raphael from the Renaissance and the first kings of a unified Italy from the nineteenth century. The interior is one circular room under a coffered dome, with marble on the walls and the floor. At the centre of the dome is the oculus, nine metres of open sky, and the daylight falling through it is the only light the building has. Stand still under it for a minute before you start walking. The scale is easier to feel than to measure, and with a booked slot there is nothing waiting for you outside.
